This will be the first real review of this watch for I’m not on Reactor’s payroll unlike 3 previous reviewers. Got this watch as a gift, the packaging is original but who cares. First things first, it is a BIG watch, and it is HEAVY (210g), so if you’re not into this kind of things look elsewhere. I’m not because I have thin wrists, but the watch somehow manages not to look ridiculously out of proportions when put on. The case feels bulletproof and quality made, looks good too, the crown has a solid feel to it when setting date/time. Can’t state the same about the clasp as it is kinda cheesy however it still locks secure enough. Having said that the truth remains is that it is another knock-off from China with plasticky mechanism – consider it overpriced if you’re paying over $100. There is not much else to say, I’m going to keep it since it was a gift and I need a watch. 3 stars for it being nothing special.

Update: e-mailed with a question to Reactor’s customer service a week ago, no reply so far. Looks like their hyped CS is just another marketing trick after all…

  2. Ordered watch on Amazon Lightening deal for $99.00. Pleased with weight and durability although face is not the most appealing. However, I purchased primarily due to the sale price and it looked like a good watch.

First disappointment was with the bright Swiss Superluminova dials and hands. When it’s dark, you won’t be able to read the watch (not a very good selling point).

Second disappointment was the fact that the stop watch reset to 2 seconds instead of 0 within 2 weeks of ownership. Watch was worn less than 10 times and not abused so I don’t understand why this would happen and concerned with the overall Japanese movement. Rated it a 1 because it didn’t hold up. Returned to Amazon.

    1) REACTOR truly represents the best of what the world of watches has to offer.

    2) Our claim to be the Best Built Performance Sport Watch isn’t just marketing hype.

    3) This DNA forms the core of a product that will outlast and outperform every other watch you have ever owned.

The above three statements were found on the Reactor site — they set the bar high — which is why my experience rates a single star.

My Photon arrived DOA. I called customer service, told them of the problem and the woman said: “It sounds like your battery is dead.” Then she didn’t say anything else — like send it back and we’ll replace it and pay for the shipping or even an apology. Indeed, she sounded p.o. that I called.

So I went to my local watch store and got a new battery for $10. A few days later I noticed it was 30 minutes behind — figured I had set it in correctly. A day later is stopped altogether. Even though an email from some guy at Reactor said they stand by their products “110%” again there was no offer to pay for shipping it back so they could give it their 110%.

Folks — if this were something cheap I’d be more forgiving — but I re-read those claims that started this and thought they aren’t walking the walk. They are the best at not living their brand promise.

So it has been returned for refund and caveat emptor. Their efforts to keep my business did not reflect their braggadocio. And I really thought the watch was cool — wish the company was….
